Jewellery Care

  • Store jewellery in a jewellery box

Store jewellery in a jewellery box

The best place for your jewellery when not being worn is a nicely padded jewellery box. This greatly reduces the chances of your precious pieces being damaged or lost.

  • Avoid direct contact with perfume, body lotions or other chemicals

Avoid direct contact with perfume, body lotions or other chemicals

Contact with these products will make your diamond look grey and dull as they tend to stick to the bottom of the diamond and prevent it sparkling as it should. To keep your @londondiamondsofficial jewellery looking its best, we will always clean and polish whenever required.

  • Clean your jewellery after use and occasionally with a soft cloth

A gentle rinse in cold water and a wipe with a soft cloth will work wonders to remove much of the daily grime and dirt that jewellery collects. Use a gentle cloth and don’t be tempted to use an electric toothbrush as it might weaken the prongs holding the diamond if too much pressure is applied.

  • Keep away from water

Water with high salt content isn’t very friendly to jewellery so it’s best to keep your jewellery dry if possible.

  • Remove jewellery when bathing, showering or swimming

More rings are lost when splashing around in sea water and showering than you might think so it’s best to remove your jewellery before doing either of these activities.

  • Remove jewellery before going to bed or participating in physical activity

Remove jewellery before going to bed or participating in physical activity

Never wear jewellery to the gym or during physical activity. This can cause injury to either you and/or your ring so it’s best to remove your @londondiamondsofficial ring first.
